It has recently been announced that Zach Simpson of Elmira College, a small liberal arts college in Elmira, NY, will be the newest graduate to play for the Washington Generals.
Simpson, a 6'8" 230lb ball player graduated from Elmira after four years playing for their Screaming Eagles basketball team. In his final season he led the team in blocked shots and offensive rebounds and was second in scoring with 9.8 points per game and a 47 percent from the field.
Simpson will report to the Washington Generals training camp next month and will be touring in either the upcoming European tour or Asian tour from October through the first half of December.
At the moment the official touring schedule doesn't show an asian tour coming up. It's likley they simply haven't announced the tour dates yet. Although the Washington Generals do have their annual military tour falling during that time period. So it is possible they will be touring bases in Asia as well.
Wherever he plays, this blog wishes Zach the best of luck with the Washington Generals. I have no doubt they will be lucky to have him.
